Ronnie Rhodus (Co-owner & Store Manager) & Vicki Rhodus – (Co-Owner, Inventory, Merchandising & Curation Manager)

A Little About Ronnie...

Fantasy isn’t just a genre—it’s the ultimate escape. When he picks up a book, he wants to be fully transported to another world. Some of his favorite authors include C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, Robert Jordan, R.A. Salvatore, and Joseph Delaney—though that list could go on forever. His favorite book (other than the Bible, which he reads daily) is The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. He had always loved the ’80s movie adaptation but had no idea it was based on a book until he stumbled upon it by chance. Since then, he’s been losing himself in its pages. Ronnie wasn’t always an avid reader, but that changed over 32 years ago when he married his wife, Vicki. Her deep love of books inspired him, and he’s been reading ever since.

Currently, he’s making his way through The Neverending Story, Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree, and rereading the Spooks series by Joseph Delaney. At The Reading Rabbit, Ronnie is most excited to see how God will work through the bookstore. The journey to opening its doors has been full of miracles, and he’s eager to see what’s next. More than anything, he looks forward to building a community where people can connect, share their love of books, and form lifelong friendships.

And a Little About Vicki...

Vicki has been a certified bookworm since childhood, but her love for reading truly took off when she discovered the world of Young Adult novels. (The Girls of Canby Hall , Sweet Dreams and Wildfire Romances were her first loves.) A voracious reader, once she starts a book, it's nearly impossible to pry it from her hands. She adores historical fiction with a touch of romance, gets lost in sci-fi and fantasy worlds, and enjoys a good dash of mystery. At one point, she owned enough books to start a library—so she did! She donated her entire collection (except for her treasured P.S. I Love You by Barbara Conklin) to her local public library, forming the foundation of their YA section. Her favorite author is Diana Gabaldon, and her favorite book is Outlander. Though her reading tastes have expanded, she still has a soft spot for YA (Twilight and Divergent forever!).

She’s currently immersed in A Love Woven in Moonlight by Lindsey N. Rhoden and always looking for the next great read.

Mikayla Mitchell – (Marketing & Events Manager)

Mikayla Mitchell, the eldest daughter of co-owners Vicki and Ronnie Rhodus, didn’t always consider herself a bookworm. Reading was a challenge for her growing up—words jumbled, letters flipped, and books felt more frustrating than fun. But after years of watching her mother’s deep love for books and being introduced to stories like Anne of Green Gables, she started to see the magic in reading. Once she found the right books, there was no turning back. Now, she adores historical fiction and romance—especially when they blend seamlessly into beautifully immersive stories. Lynn Austin is her favorite author, weaving love and history together in a way that keeps her hooked. She is currently reading The Orphan’s Tale by Pam Jenoff and is eager to see where the story takes her. At The Reading Rabbit, Mikayla is most excited about creating a cozy, welcoming space for the community—especially through Stephen’s Corner, the children’s section.

She looks forward to helping young readers discover the joy of books and hopes the store will be a place where everyone feels at home.

Rebekah Rhodus – (Subscription & Merchandising Manager)

Rebekah Rhodus, Vicki and Ronnie’s middle daughter, has been reading for as long as she can remember—books have always been a part of her world. She loves nothing more than getting lost in a story filled with romance, adventure, and a little bit of magic. J.R.R. Tolkien is her favorite author (because who doesn’t love an epic journey?), and while she can’t possibly pick just one favorite book, she’s currently devouring Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. At The Reading Rabbit, Rebekah is excited to help connect readers with books they’ll love—whether it’s through the store’s subscription service or online orders. But what she’s most looking forward to is creating a space where fellow book lovers can come together, swap recommendations, and share their love of reading.
